Ice Cream Social

On Saturday, September 24, 2011, the Sulphur Springs Community Museum Commission hosted their first annual ice cream social, sponsored by Hiland Dairy. It was a beautiful afternoon and there was a steady flow of people for the whole event (2:00-5:00pm). Many stayed and enjoyed each other's company.

Along with selling the ice cream, there was a table with handmade crafts for sale. For entertainment, we enjoyed music from Mike Larson, Elaine Augustin, Clara Augustin, and Abby Rogers.

The Commission would like to thank all the ladies from Friendly Neighbors who made the homemade brownies and cookies!

The Latest Sulphur Springs News

Tyler Smith, from our town, was injured while serving in the US Army last week. He was driving a large truck in Afghanistan when it was struck with a 150 lb IED (the regular weight is 50 lbs.). Thank the Lord that no one in the vehicle died or even lost a limb! They were all knocked unconscious and suffered concussions. Tyler and another man had some minor fractures. Tyler was flown back to the US a few days ago and is now in a military hospital in Kentucky.
Above is a picture of Tyler from last year

Lil Buckley, was taken to the hospital on Friday, April 1. She is now recovering at Highland Rehabilitation center in Bella Vista. Lil helped start the Chamber of Commerce, museum and the library. She also directed the publication of a Sulphur Springs Bicentennial book. She is a pillar in our town. Please pray for her.

Car Show in Sulphur Springs Park

71 beautiful cars from the "Hillbilly Tour" stopped in our park on Saturday.

They enjoyed our museum and the great food from our local Restaurants: Kat's Korner and the Cowboy Cafe.
